A unique, experimental, sound journey, this recording presents a full range
of harmonic music using Himalayan singing bowls, tingshas, bells, flutes,
shakers, drums, gongs, harp, koto, tambura, and voice. Perfect for journeying,
meditation, message, or relaxation, this CD asks the listener to take time
for themselves; to refresh, re-balance, and energize.
For over nine years, Fatah Evans, Bill Foster, Bob Sedivy, and Ed Rockett
have met weekly as a "men's group." This healing music was initiated during
many retreats into the wilderness of Los Padres National Forest in California.
They began exploring the powerful overtones of tingshas and Himalayan bowls,
and worked with each other during what they termed "bell treatments." The
music they created called for an intuitive, in-the-moment approach and was
played with the intention of supporting the receiver. As time passed, other
instruments and vocal toning helped expand their range of music, and the men
were invited to extend this work to other people, including some with terminal
illnesses.
Mujiba Cabugos and Lorin Grean
have worked together on varied music and performance projects over the last
eight years. They were invited to join the men during a special gathering celebrating
the balance of the masculine and feminine. Thus began a wonderful collaboration.
The six members of tingsha come from diverse backgrounds--doctor, body worker,
engineer, artists, and musicians. Together, tingsha has been holding sound celebrations
on Solstices and Equinoxes as well as Private sessions with meditation and movement
groups.
