Varujan Kojian brought the Santa Barbara Symphony to a
most distinguished place in the ranks of American orchestras. Honored
by the National Endowment for the Arts for its artistic achievement and
praised by critics and public
alike, the Santa Barbara Symphony became Santa Barbara's most popular
classical music series, based on the number of subscribers and concertgoers
attending the Orchestra's programs each year.
Besides conducting all of the Symphony's concerts, Maestro Kojian conducted
orchestras throughout the world. His busy schedule took him to Russia,
Greece, France, Mexico, Germany, New Zealand, South America, Venezuela,
and many American cities.
The Santa Barbara Symphony musicians' admiration and esteem for their
conductor, and his for them, became apparent at every performance. Together
they brought magic to their music making.
The Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra Association wishes to acknowledge its
deep appreciation for the assistance of Herbert Waltl and Thomas Bruchs
in the completion of this recording. Their work in the recording session
and their expertise in the post-production phase were invaluable. It could
not have been completed without them.
