On this recording, lovers of the Celtic harp will be delighted to find
well-known favorites and many nearly forgotten harp tunes from the 18th
century and earlier. This is a fine selection of music from Ireland and
Scotland with a few surprises, all lovingly arranged for today s Celtic
harp.
For their encouragement, help, and inspiration, my heartfelt thanks go
to my singing mother, Marjorie Rushton, my father, friends and
teachers Barbara Hilaire, Tarik and Julia Banzi, Catha Paquette,
Elaine St. James, and Cherie Chako and Nadine Bunn of
Folk Mote Music.
For more information about the music on this recording, see Open
the Door Softly, a book of Music arranged for solo harp by Patricia
Rushton.
