Lance Parker, Santa Barbara singer/songwriter, has released his debut
independent album "Homing Pigeons News."
What you'll be hearing: "Quirky-brainy rootsy rock", "the disc is playful without
being un-serious and sensitive without being trite." -Dennis Tivey, Santa Barbara
Independent.
"Wilco-ish",...."Neil Young visits a 'White Album' session."
These are the references, but really it's eleven songs from a man passing through
the streets of his town, across the land high and low, down to the California
shore, bumping into characters, a lover and discarded objects along the way.
Occasionally pulling out his guitar and pen to make a sketch, it's mapped out
in the recording studio and brought back to life in a condensed musical report.
The songs speak for themselves, the music is the hammock that keeps them suspended
just above the ground where the wind whistles and the dry leaves rattle.
Currently a local phenomena, Lance and his backing band (Marisa Mirano-bass,
Bruce Winter-drums/keys, Lance Austin-lead guitar) are in the studio again making
the follow up to this well received disc.
