Paul, a fifth generation Californian, and Mary, an Irish Native, possess a striking musical balance that honours traditional roots while at the same time expands the walls of mainstream folk.

Mary Murphy is an eloquent Dublin-born singer/songwriter blessed with a honeyed crystalline voice. Her sculpted and diverse writing reveals a clear and enticing panorama of the world. Paul Keim's tasteful approach to songwriting is skillfully crafted through filters of various American roots music. It is this well thought out expressiveness that makes his songs have the uncanny ability to instantaneously transport his listeners to another time and place with his lyrically alluring compositions and intricate guitar patterns.

Their singing and songwriting is complimented by the variety of guitars such as the Weissenborn lap slide and National Resophonic instruments played by Paul, and the interchange of world percussion played by Mary. Mary and Paul receive steady airplay on numerous radio stations around the world including NPR'S 'Thistle and Shamrock' and 'Risky Biscuit'. The have written and performed music for film including the song 'McGregor's Lament', a piece featured in a Charlie Sheen movie and recorded with a one hundred piece orchestra. Mary and Paul have performed with the likes of Nappy Brown and the Chieftains and have been featured guests on scores of radio and television programs as well as being musical guests on other artist CD's. They have recorded eight CD's between the two of them including the recently released collaborative work entitled 'Dancing Barefoot Down An Empty Highway'.
