DUSAN BOGDANOVIC was born in Yugoslavia in 1955.
He completed his studies of composition and orchestration at the Geneva
Conservatory with Pierre Wissmer and Alberto Ginastera, and in guitar
performance with M.L. Sao Marcos. Early in his career, he received the
only First Prize at the 1975 Geneva Competition, and gave a highly acclaimed
debut recital in Carnage Hall in 1977. He has taught at the Geneva Conservatory
and the University of Southern California, and is presently engaged by
the San Francisco Conservatory. His compositions are published by Berben
Editions, Italy, and Guitar Solo Publications in the United States.
"ANDREW YORK'S eclectic playing and writing constitute
one of the hippest styles in American classical guitar..." say critics
of guitarist and composer Andrew York. Andrew performs throughout the
United States, Europe and Japan as a soloist performing his own compositions
and with the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. His compositions and arrangements
for guitar have gained him wide recognition among both musicians and audiences.
John Williams has made Andrew's compositions a consistent part of his
world-wide concert programming. Andrew has also written pieces for Christopher
Parkening and Pepe Romero. His compositions appear in print worldwide
from Guitar Solo Publications in San Francisco, Ricordi in London, and
Gendai in Japan.
