Crème de la Femme is a frothy concoction of comedy, parody, melody and social
commentary. This delicious duo features perpetual "partners in cream" and performers
about town, Allegra Heidelinde and Sarah Frascella.
Sarah Frascella grew up in Santa Barbara and studied at Indiana University's
prestigious music and theatre department where she trained in a variety of vocal
styles including jazz, musical theatre and opera. Sarah has performed in over
40 stage productions, more than half of which were musicals, and was last seen
as Magenta in Santa Barbara City College's The Rocky Horror Show. She is working
on her debut solo CD and teaches singing privately and in workshop format.
Allegra Heidelinde has been performing since childhood. A theatre student
at Occidental College she also studied voice privately and created her own experimental
theatre troupe. Her former band Buckley v. Valeo
released a self-titled CD in the summer of 2000. While drawn to performance
art, Allegra has also performed numerous roles in productions such as Into The
Woods and The Threepenny Opera. A songwriter as well as performer, Allegra writes
much of Crème de la Femme's original material.
Allegra and Sarah
first worked together in a Santa Barbara production of MacBeth. Years later,
realizing they share a penchant and talent, for over-the-top self expression,
they decided to call the shots, take no prisoners and rock the boat with Santa
Barbara's answer to Moulin Rouge -- Crème de la Femme.
