Agatha Carubia is acknowledged as being a singer with a voice of
rare beauty and soulful expression. With the composition and release of her
new CD "Terranova, Ascension of our Planet,"
Agatha has created a genre of music that is being met with great excitement.
She is being referred to as the "modern-day Hildegard" because of the feminine
mysticism of her lyrics and the chantlike quality of her voice. "Your music
sends me to another place. It is beyond Angelic, reminding one of the power
of the Goddess Quan Yin."
Agatha was trained in Western Classical Music and received her Bachelor and
Masters degrees in music from the Juilliard School. During this period of her
life in classical music, her greatest joy was taking on the challenge of performing
the compositions of young classical composers and making them come to life.
Agatha
has had extensive training and performance in the field of Opera. At Lincoln
Center in New York City and in the Santa Barbara, California area she has performed
Soprano solos in some of the beautiful Sacred Choral Masterpieces for chorus
and orchestra. Agatha has performed extensively in masterclasses and has given
numerous art song recitals. She has branched out of western classical, exploring
music of East India and the contemporary works of her friends.
With this background, and after exploring so many works of other composers,
Agatha decided that her truth would lie in expressing her own sentiments rather
than the sentiments and music of others. Thus, her life as a singer has taken
on a new incarnation and composing for herself has become one of her greatest
joys. With the creation of this new music, using her own lyrics and those of
her husband Solomon and her friends, she now has a vehicle to extend to others
the love and guidance that she receives.
